Photo tours with A Day in the West –
During the month of July A Day in the West will be offering two photo tours a day. These tours will be catered to photographers with an emphasis on stopping at locations with good photographic opportunities.
Mogollon Rim Photo Tour (7:00am departure) - The morning departure will ascend up Schnebly Hill Road through Bear Wallow Canyon. This area gets good morning light and was the location of many of the westerns filmed in Sedona.

Lil Rattler Photo Tour (sunset departure) - The afternoon tour will be in the western canyons and will be timed to catch the sunset. As sunset times change, please call us to find out what time you will be leaving on this two-hour tour.

During the week of Monday, July 18 to Sunday, July 25, 2010, the city of Sedona, Arizona and the Sedona Arts Center will host the First Annual Sedona PhotoFest: Southwest Photography Competition, Symposium and Exhibition.

Each company will be offering prizes for the photo competion, and A Day in the West has created two, daily photo jeep tours for interested photographers who want to get off the beaten trail to capture images in the early morning or sunset.
This week-long symposium offers an extraordinary chance for outdoor photographers to absorb and learn new skills and techniques over an intense few days. From lectures on mastering digital print to shooting with pors in the field, there are ample opportunities to mingle with those who have mastered the art of snapping the shot that “paints 1000 words” and learn something new.
